HOW DOES ONE BECOME BORN AGAIN?

For a person to be born again, or saved, a person must first admit that he/she is a sinner. In I John 1:8-10John tells us, "If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all un- righteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His Word is not in us." Romans 10:13 tells us, "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved."

How do we call upon God for salvation? We do it through prayer. The following is an example of a prayer you can say. This is not the only prayer you can use, but each of these elements should be included in whatever you pray.

Dear God, I know that I am a sinner. I am sorry for all the things I've done wrong in my life. I ask You now to forgive me completely so that I can stand before You in righteousness. God, You promise in Your Bible that if I call on You, you will forgive me, cleanse me, and save me from the pit of hell by the cleansing blood of Your Son, Jesus Christ. I accept that for myself right now.

Jesus, I ask You now to come in me, fill me, be Lord of my life. I receive You now as my Savior, and the Lord of my life.

Holy Spirit, I ask You to come into my heart now and fill me so that I can begin to learn about Jesus in a personal way.

Thank You, God, for sending Your only Son to die for me and that I am now  saved and made whole in Your sight.

I pray this prayer in Jesus name, Amen.

ABOUT SALVATION

by

Pastor Suzanne L. Taylor

Do you ever wonder if you are too far into sin to be saved?  If so, read Luke 7:36-50.  It's a story about a woman named Mary who was a prostitute.  Mary earned her living plying her trade in town.  Her sin wasn't something she could hide. Everyone knew her and what she did for a living.  The women, and even the men who made use of her body, judged and condemned her.  They would never have taken a meal with this wonton creature.  But our loving Jesus.  He did not see this woman's sin. He saw her loving, repentant heart, and He forgave her of all her sin.

You can experience this same type of redemptive salvation by simply believing on Jesus.  Believe that He was born of a virgin.  Believe that He was God who left His glory on high and came to earth in flesh to live as a man.  Believe that He suffered the insults, the crown of thorns, the ripping beating across His back, and the horrendous pain of hanging on the cross to set you free from sin and death.  When He washes you white as snow in His crimson blood, it will include healing from your shame.

There are not many paths to the same God.  There are not thousands upon thousands of gods.  There is but one God and one way to Him. Jesus said, in John 14:6, "I am the Way, the Truth and the Life.  No man comes unto the Father but by me."

Repent of (turn away from) all your sin before God.  Call on the name of the Lord.  He's waiting for you to ask Him for what you need.  In this case, you need to be forgiven of your sins, saved, cleansed, and filled with His Spirit so that your eternity can be guaranteed.

By scrolling down and reading aloud the prayer below, or by saying one of your own prayers,  you can be born into the family of Jesus the Christ, and be assured that you will never have to suffer the torments of hell.

I pray that God will touch your spirit and the Holy Spirit will reveal the truth of Jesus to your heart as you make your choice today.  In Jesus' name I pray.
